AIDS: Another Pro-Life Controversy

      Once again the Catholic Church stands firm on a Pro-Life
issue only to be derided by those who would benefit most from
Its teachings. The Church has vigorously pleaded with those
who are at risk of developing AIDS to abstain from premarital
sex and illicit drugs. Along with these sound prevention
messages, it has opened its doors and continues to be the largest
private provider of support services to PWA's (People with AIDS)
in the United States. Despite the Catholic Church's efforts,
however, self-promoting AIDS 'activist' groups such as ACT-UP
(AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power) have launched many "Stop the
Church!" campaigns. From my point-of-view as a PWA, it is obvious
that ACT-UP is causing a commotion, not to help those like
myself, but to use AIDS as a platform to promote its own
political agenda. That agenda is the call for special rights
for homosexuals.
     Many homosexuals believe that AIDS and special rights for
homosexuals are intrinsically linked. The ADVOCATE is a gay
magazine that has published several articles that echo this
sentiment. In the September 6, 1994 issue, in the article, "AIDS:
Still the Issue", Torie Osborn warns that the trend to separate
AIDS from the national agenda of gay and lesbian politics must
be stopped. Osborn writes, "In horrible irony it has almost
become more acceptable in this sick, homophobic society to have
AIDS than to be gay," saying basically that promiscuous sexual
behavior and terminal illness should be viewed with equal
compassion.
     The Stonewall Inn was a gay bar in Greenwich Village, where
in 1969, a small number of homosexuals rioted and attacked police
as a response to police raids on the establishment. This
incident, where homosexuals used violence to defend a saloon,
is credited as having given birth to the gay rights movement.
On June 26th, 1994, a march was held in New York City to mark
the 25th anniversary of the Stonewall riot. Many gay rights
groups solicited funds for the anniversary march boasting that
a portion of every donation will be used to promote "AIDS
awareness." In its fund-raising letter, the Stadtlanders
Foundation asked for funds to create a one-mile-long rainbow
flag which is the "official" flag of homosexuals. The letter
read, "It's a chance to show your support of Lesbian and Gay
Pride and to help AIDS charities at the same time." The Catholic
Church is an AIDS charity with a difference: it helps PWA's
without supporting the homosexual deathstyle and that is the
reason why ACT-UP hates the Church so much.
     The Church gracefully helps those afflicted with AIDS
quietly and without fanfare. It does not solicit funds from
homosexuals and accomplishes its mission with volunteers.
Conversely, the more than 18,000 gay-related AIDS organizations
in this country spend tremendous amounts of money on gala events,
staff and fund-raising activities.  Because of the incestuous
solicitation of funds between the various gay/AIDS organizations,
many of them are crying poverty. Through financial mismanagement,
PWA's are usually the last to receive any benefit from these
money-mills.
     A good portion of the donated monies are allocated to the
nebulous promotion of "AIDS awareness." Gay Men's Health Crisis
(GMHC) is a multi-million dollar AIDS organization in New York
City. In its subway advertising campaign, homosexuals are shown
embracing, Saran-wrapped in latex and spermicidal creams,
practicing "safe" sex. Other campaigns are geared toward people
who shoot drugs into their veins. GMHC tells these addicted
people that they should use a clean and shiny needle when they
inject illicit drugs into their bodies. This gives the impression
that homosexuals and drug addicts are unable to control their
carnal lusts and will stop at nothing in order to get sex and
drugs-even during a plague! When the Church offers the rational
approach of restraint through abstinence, it is attacked by
the gay fundamentalists from ACT-UP, lending more support to
the theory that saving people from the scourge of AIDS is not
the primary agenda of the gay-centered AIDS organizations.
     The founder of the "safe" sex campaign was a homosexual
named Michael Callen. He authored a booklet entitled, "How to
Have Sex in an Epidemic" which vigorously promoted the use of
condoms. The late Mr. Callen also ironically authored a book
entitled, Surviving AIDS. In it he recounts, "GMHC and other
critics retorted that by focusing attention on the incidence
of the many sexually transmitted diseases common among
promiscuous gay men, we were 'shouting guilt from the rooftops.'"
     Instead of shouting guilt for promiscuous behavior, Edmund
White, the co-author of The Joy of Gay Sex, proposed that, "gay
men should wear their sexually transmitted diseases like red
badges of courage in a war against a sex-negative society."
The wearing of red ribbons has become chic and is almost
mandatory at many society functions. Red ribbons are not worn
to call awareness to AIDS but are a promotion of homosexual
ideals. As a Catholic with AIDS, I find them quite offensive
and prefer to wear a cross.
     Michael Callen wrote about the desperate homosexual
deathstyle, "...I had racked up more than three thousand
different sex partners in bathhouses, back rooms, meat racks
and tearooms. As a consequence, I had the following sexually
transmitted diseases, many more than once: hepatitis A, hepatitis
B, hepatitis non-A/non-B; herpes simplex types I and II; venereal
warts; amebiasis, including giardia lamblia and entamoeba
histolytica; shigella flexneri and salmonella; syphilis;
gonorrhea; nonspecific urethritis; chlamydia; cytomegalovirus
(CMV), and Epstein-Barr virus (EBV) mononucleosis; and eventually
cryptosporidiosis..." A condom will not stop the spread of some
of these diseases, yet, the public is told by the gay/AIDS
industry that latex, perhaps like a lucky rabbit's foot, protects
an individual from evil.
     Drugs are an integral part of the homosexual deathstyle.
They are used to numb the senses thereby suppressing an
underlying self-hate enabling the user to perform
sado-masochistic acts of debauchery without guilt. One homosexual
dance club that celebrates this phenomenon boasts loud music,
peep booths and a 100 foot "K-hole". This "K-hole" refers to
the loss of peripheral vision experienced by club patrons due
to the ingestion of an animal tranquilizer nicknamed "Special-K".
Many homosexual dancers have been known to go into shock on
the club's dance floor because of this drug.
     Many denizens of homosexual dance clubs ritualistically
ingest an aphrodisiac designer-drug named "Ecstasy." The
September 21, 1994 New York Free Press, a NYC free newspaper,
describes the scene at a dance club in an article entitled,
"Best Religious Experience": "...the communion is Ecstasy, and
like any other form of religion the desired result is spiritual
transformation...bowls of fruit are passed...The scene is
Dionysian in every sense, harkening back to trance dances of
ancient times..." Ecstasy dries the fluid in the spine and is
very dangerous, but some homosexuals use it to "put them in
the mood." That mood appears to shout, "Eat, drink and be merry
for tomorrow we die!"
     The first 41 cases of AIDS were reported by Lawrence K.
Altman in a New York Times article entitled, "Rare Cancer Seen
in 41 Homosexuals" dated July 3, 1981. Altman writes about the
health practices of the first men who were afflicted AIDS,

"...the reporting doctors said that most cases had
involved homosexual men who have had multiple and
frequent sexual encounters with different partners,
as many as 10 sexual encounters each night up to four
times a week.
     Many of the patients have also been treated for
viral infections such as herpes, cytomegalovirus and
hepatitis B as well as parasitic infections such as
amebiasis and giardiasis. Many patients also reported
that they had used drugs such as amyl nitrite and
LSD to heighten sexual pleasure."

     More than 11 years after this article was published, The
United States Department of Health and Human Services released
a report giving a breakdown of everyone who was diagnosed with
AIDS in the U.S. from the beginning of the epidemic through
September 1992. Of the 238,095 people who were diagnosed with
AIDS in that 11 year period, 214,650 (90%) were people who had
sex with homosexuals, shot drugs or had sex with a person who
shot drugs. People who received tainted blood products numbered,
6,786 (3%). The number of women who were diagnosed with AIDS
during that period was 25,947 (11%). Of that number, 12,844
(50%) women shot drugs themselves and 5,612 (22%) women had
sex with a person who shot drugs.
     These numbers are tragic and I am by no means attempting
to belittle them, I just want to put AIDS into perspective.
During  that same 11 year period, millions of children were
slaughtered with the blessings of the gay/AIDS activists through
the cowardly and murderous act of abortion. Of the roughly
2,000,000 people who died in the United States in 1992 (not
counting the murdered babies), 22,500 (1%) died of AIDS. These
are not plague numbers. In the same year approximately 900,000
people died of heart disease and 500,000 died of cancer. These
are plague numbers! After 13 years, HIV/AIDS has not spread
to the general population and has for the most part been
diagnosed in homosexuals, drug users, people from impoverished
countries, and recipients of tainted blood products.
     For this reason many researchers believe that HIV is not
the sole cause of AIDS and that other health threats, called
"co-factors", might be involved. Some scientists believe that
illicit drugs, other infections, AZT, contaminated blood
products, malnutrition, stress, poor sanitation and subsequent
parasitic infections are co-factors of AIDS. I know many people
who have removed these co-factors from their lives only to see
their conditions improve.
     Dr. Robert C. Gallo of the National Cancer Institute in
the U.S. and Dr. Luc Montagnier of the Pasteur Institute in
France are both credited with having discovered HIV. Dr.
Montagnier believes that another organism, called a mycoplasma,
must be present in order for HIV to cause AIDS. Coleman Jones
in the October 1994 issue of SPIN Magazine quotes Dr. Gallo
as saying, "I think that if HIV is not being expressed and not
reforming virus and replicating, the virus is a dud, and won't
be causing the disease..." Dr. Gallo believes that a herpes
virus, named HHV-6, might be a co-factor along with HIV as the
cause of AIDS. He also believes that HHV-6 might play a part
in Chronic Fatigue Syndrome. Condoms do not stop mycoplasma
and HHV-6 infections, so once again the Church's teaching on
abstinence is appropriate.
     Any attempt to blame a lifestyle as a cause of AIDS,
however, is vociferously attacked by the gay/AIDS terrorists.
"You're blaming the victim!", they cry. AIDS is their vehicle
for gaining acceptance. "HIV=AIDS=DEATH" is their mantra and
they will stop at nothing to enforce it. In their hysteria,
they have broken into our churches and have defiled the Holy
Eucharist. They have attacked medical researchers and have
corrupted science with their politics. They lie to the public
about sex and drugs. And, they take away hope from those who
need it most by insisting that HIV is always fatal-which it
is not.
     I thank God, the Father Almighty for giving me life through
His Son, Our Lord, Jesus Christ. And I thank His Church for
standing like a rock amidst the swirling torrent of lies that
emanates from the homosexual culture of death.
